What is an information sharing & Analysis Center (ISAC)?
An Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) is a nonprofit organization that provides a central resource for gathering information on cyber and related threats to critical infrastructure and providing two-way sharing of information between the private and public sectors.
What are Isac capabilities?
ISAC Capabilities The core of the ISAC is information exchange; this chapter presents the different approaches to achieve it and presents how trust can be built between members. The main goal of information sharing is more the acknowledgement and enumeration than the actual analysis sharing.
What tools do ISACS use?
One of the most common tools used is MISP16. These are the most common tools used by ISACs. They are also the way to extend the direct relationship established during face-to-face meetings. PGP keys are usually used to encrypt emails and documents. Also TLP is being used to exchange information.
Can a sectoral Isac scale up?
Still very few ISAC have built the capacity to support this feature which would scale up in the case of sectoral ISAC. Bright examples of sectoral ISAC are the EE ISAC and the EU FI- ISAC, however all other sectors (like Health, Maritime etc) lag behind on creating ISAC.
